Federal MUTCD Sign Chart
FHWA Series 2000 and Clearview Series Typefaces
This chart contains sign conforming to specifications outlined in the 2009 Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the 2004 Standard Highway Signs Manual (SHSM) and 2012 Standard Highway Signs Supplement. Additional signs that are not part of the current official Federal register are included to provide the user with commonly used alternate designs for common sign types. Approval for their use should be obtained by the appropriate regulatory agency or department in your jurisdiction. All signs displayed in this chart use the official FHWA Series 2000 typefaces. Use of the Clearview typeface system is subject to conditions outlined in the Clearview interim approval document. This chart is for reference purposes only as designs are subject to change. Please consult the USDOT Federal Highway Administration website for current design guidelines. Please note that signs are not to scale and some signs have been scaled to indicate sizing relative to similar signs.
