Using DesignCentral to Edit Points and Segments

When a segment or point is selected, or when you are using the Bezier Tool, DesignCentral displays Path and Point editing tabs. The information on each tab differs depending on whether a point or a segment is selected.

DesignCentral When a Segment is Selected

When a segment is selected, the following information is available in DesignCentral:

Attributes in the Path tab

mceclip6.png Indicates the number of points selected in a path.
mceclip7.png mceclip8.png Specifies the type of selected segment (straight line or Bezier curve). You can convert one type to another by clicking these buttons.
mceclip19.png Specifies the length of the selected segment. In a curved segment, this value is the length of a straight line joining the two ends of the segment (see above illustration).
mceclip13.png Specifies the angle of the selected segment. In a curved segment, this value is the angle of a straight line joining the two ends of the segment (see above illustration).

 

Attributes in the Point tab

When you have a segment selected, you'll notice it has two handles: one with a circle and one with a square. The Point Tab in Design Central will have designations for each, as shown below.

mceclip18.png Displays the X,Y coordinates of the selection point (the point where the segment was clicked).
mceclip15.png Displays the length and angle of the Direction Handle marked with a square. In the above example, it will change the handle on the right.
mceclip17.png Displays the length and angle of the Direction Handle marked with a circle. In the above example, it will change the handle on the left.
