Label Tools

Use the Label Tools to draw an arrow with text attached to it.

There are two types of labels:

  • Select a Label Tool. mceclip1.png mceclip2.png
    • The Label tab appears in DesignCentral.
  • Click the place where the label line will start.
    • As you move the cursor, a line shows the direction in which you are moving.

  • If you are creating a two segment label, click to define the point where the first segment ends and the second segment begins.

  • Click the point where the label will end.
  • Type the label text in the DesignCentral field and press Tab or Enter.
  • In DesignCentral, adjust the following parameters:

DesignMeasureDCFont.pngDesignMeasureAdvancedArrowWidth.pngDesignMeasureAdvancedArrowHeight.png Specifies the Font and Font Style to be used.
DesignMeasureDCFontSize.png Specifies the Font Size of the used.

When initially drawing the arrow, if you hold it on the edge of the object, you will see an alignment cursor. mceclip0.png

 

If the linked box is checked while clicking the edge as this cursor is showing, the label will be attached to the object. It will stay with the object as it is moved, and the arrow length will resize automatically if the object is resized.

mceclip11.png Opens the Advanced Settings dialog box.
  • In the Advanced Settings dialog box, adjust the following parameters:

Border Text When checked, a box encloses the label text.
DesignMeasureAdvancedArrowHeight.png Sets the arrow Height (length).
DesignMeasureAdvancedArrowWidth.png Sets the arrow Width.
  • When finished, click OK.
