All offline licenses need to run from a licensing dongle, which will be shipped to you. When you receive the package, you should have the following in it:
- Purple USB drive – this is a flash drive with the latest Flexi installer on it
- Blue USB drive – this is the drive that is used for licensing
- Some instructions to help with your installation
When installing Flexi to an offline computer, you will need to do a couple of things to license the software. Read this before installing to ensure that you have everything set up for a smooth install.
For installation on an offline computer, you will need to download the license file on a computer with internet access and move it to the computer where Flexi will be installed. You can download the license file from your SAi Cloud account.
Log in to your account at saicloud.com, select the Software ID for the license you are installing, then select “Download License.” This license file will need to be entered into the License Manager so that the software knows to license locally with your dongle instead of reaching to our licensing server to verify the license.
It is generally easiest to move this file to the computer by putting it on the purple USB drive that came in your package. This is the same USB drive that has the installer on it. By adding the license file to this USB drive, you can have everything needed for the installation in an easy to locate place.
At the end of the Flexi installation, it will prompt you to license the software. Select “Import A License File” then follow the prompts to select the license file and load it in.
Your Dongle will also need to be configured. Instructions for this come in the box with your dongle and installer. You can also find them below.
Dongle configuration instructions:
- Plug the USB Key into a PC with internet access.
- Go to saicloud.com, log into your account, and select your license.
- Click on the “Download KeyScribe” button.
- Open the downloaded file and run the installer.
- Once installed, return to saicloud.com and click “Configure Key”.
- If successful, you’ll see: “License downloaded to dongle”. Click OK.
- Your Key is now configured.
- Plug the USB Key into the PC where you want to install the software.
- Open and run the Flexi or EnRoute installer from the thumb drive (separate from the USB KEY) provided in the shipped packaging.
- Choose your language and click OK.
- Accept the License Agreement and click Next.
- Choose the install location (or leave default) and click Next.
- Click Next again to confirm Start Menu settings.
- Click Install to begin installation.
- When prompted, enter the provided activation code (also found on saicloud.com) and click Next.
- You’ll see: “Licensing Successful”. Click Finish.
- If this is your first install, uncheck “Copy data from another installation” and click OK If copying settings from a previous install, leave it checked and follow the prompts.
- To view the ReadMe, leave the box checked and click Finish (optional).
- Your software icon(s) will appear on your desktop.
- The USB Key must remain plugged in to use the software.
The dongle can be configured on any Windows computer, it does not need to be configured on the same computer where Flexi is running. As long as the computer has internet access and can run KeyScribe, it can configure your dongle.
Once Flexi is installed and your dongle is configured, plug the dongle into the PC and launch Flexi.
If Flexi gives an error about the license, check that the light on the dongle is glowing. If the light is not glowing, or if you run into any other issues during this process, reach out to our support team for further assistance.
