To access Production Manager Preferences, click on Edit, then "Preferences" on the Menu Bar.
Units: This setting allows you to choose the measurement units used throughout various areas in Production Manager. You can select from inches, feet, millimeters, centimeters, or meters.
Precision: This setting controls the number of decimal places permitted in numerical fields throughout Production manager. If a number exceeds the specified decimal places, it will be rounded accordingly. For instance, with a precision set to two decimal places (0.00), a number like 1.234 will be rounded to 1.23
Archive
- Path: This option sets the location where the job file will be stored.
- Format: This option allows you to select the file format that will be stored in the designated archive location. The available options are original and native format.
In the Default Job Properties for the selected device, the "Archive" option found under After Output: moves the job to a specified folder once the print job has finished processing in the Production Manager.
RIP
- Rip band height: A higher value means a longer delay before printing starts, while a lower value allows for quicker starts. When set to Auto, the RIP optimizes this value automatically.
- Preview Resolution: This option allows you to adjust the preview resolution, with settings ranging from very low to very high. Lower resolutions enhance performance, while higher resolutions provide a clearer preview. Note that these settings do not impact the actual output.
- Preview overprint: Enables or disables the preview of overprint settings.
- Maximum number of RIP threads: Increasing this value allocates more resources to the ripping process. If your workflow involves managing other tasks within Production Manager while jobs are being ripped, it is recommended to leave this setting at its default value.
- RIP thread priority: This option allows the user to set the priority for the maximum number of RIP threads, which can help optimize performance based on your workflow needs.
- Print while RIPing: This feature enables your printer to begin printing a job while the RIP software processes the next one. To accommodate potential performance impacts, you have the option to disable this feature within the settings.
- Compress RIP result: Compresses the job file to reduce its size, thereby saving hard disk space.
Display warnings for small tiles: This option enables an alert when a job exceeds your media width, resulting in a tile that is less than or equal to the specified value.
Skin: This setting customizes the appearance of the User Interface across various areas of the Production Manager. The available options include Production Manager Skin, PhotoPrint Skin, and Windows Skin.
File Paths
- Jobs: This option sets the location where the working job files will be stored.
- Temporary Files: This option sets the location where the working job files temporary information will be stored.
Allow remote Send Now/Interactive: This feature allows designs from a design license to be transmitted immediately to the Production Manager on another PC over a network, specifically enabling jobs to be sent directly to the printer.
Disable submission of job names and thumbnail images to the cloud: This option prevents job names and images from being submitted to the "Reports" section in your cloud tools.
Launch Print Wizard automatically at startup: The Print Wizard is a simplified user interface designed to assist users who find the extensive options available in production manager overwhelming. Enabling this setting will launch the Print Wizard view each time the Production Manager is opened.
Auto load preview on adding job: When this option is enabled, a preview of the job will be displayed while it is selected. If this option is disabled, you will need to double-click the job to view the preview.
Manual Nesting
- Update job layout automatically when options change: Enabling this option will automatically adjust the layout to maximize the width of your material. If unchecked, you will need to make these changes individually for each object.
- Show image preview when moving job: When this option is enabled, you will see a preview of the object as you move it on the nested page. If disabled, the object being moved and other objects will appear as blank boxes.
